Haryana State line in rehab policy

Orissa government has decided to revise the Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) policy in the line of Haryana, where land losers would get financial incentives along with compensation and annuity for 33 years.

The revenue minister Surya Narayan Patro said, A high level committee has been formed to draft the new rules,A Session on Resettlement and Rehabilitation organized by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) here on Friday.



Patro said, "We are planning to incorporate some clauses from Haryana's policy like the displaced who give their lands to industries will get the R&R compensation and an annuity of Rs 21,000 per acre per year for 33 years, which will increase by Rs 750 per year. There is also a provision to provide financial incentive to persons who decide not to go for litigation," .
