Hindus congratulate to Denmark’s first woman PM ‘Gucci Helle’

Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed has warmly congratulated Danish Prime Minister-elect Helle Thorning-Schmidt on election victory of the bloc lead by her, thus creating history of becoming Denmark’s first woman Prime Minister.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, specially hailed her “inclusivity” approach and her vision for the future. She should now deliver on changes she campaigned for and on the promises made on humane immigration policy, Zed stressed.

Rajan Zed further said that Helle’s election had raised new hope and was a significant step for gender equality. Zed hoped that Helle would successfully address various pressing challenges facing Denmark, including struggling economy.

Zed also urged the new government to work for the separation of church and state in Denmark, as institution of state church breached the equality of religions and the fundamentals of a secular nation. He also stressed that instead of just focusing on one denomination of Christianity, Denmark schools should come up with a comparative religion class teaching basics of all major world religions, including the viewpoint of non-believers. He also asked Denmark to put an end to the practice of forcible mass deportations of Roma (Gypsies).

Rajan Zed points out that Denmark, a culturally diverse society, besides various Christian denominations, has now a considerable population of Muslims, Buddhists, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, non-believers, etc.espite a sluggish economic rebound, Zed praised incumbent Lars Lokke Rasmussen for reasonably well steering of Denmark through the financial crisis.
