India is great but..., says Paris Hilton

Socialite Paris Hilton flew out of Mumbai early Tuesday saying she had an "eye opening" trip to "beautiful" India but was appalled by its poverty.

"India is beautiful but some parts are very poverty stricken... broke my heart to see babies sleeping on the streets. What are the most credible non-profit (charities) in India? After seeing what I`ve seen, I want to help make a difference," Paris tweeted before leaving the country.

The heiress, who was here on a three-day trip to launch her line of handbags for the Indian market, stunned a beggar here by tipping her $100.

The 31-year-old promptly received suggestions about a few charities in India from readers.

"Thank you all for your suggestions... It`s important to give to those who are less fortunate," she added.

The blonde beauty is headed to Dubai. But she hopes to come back to India, which she earlier said was a "magical and spiritual" land.

"What an amazing and eye opening trip to India. I look forward to coming back soon. Love you all!" she tweeted.

No Koffee for Paris Hilton with Karan Johar!

Look what our very own Karan Johar has done! He has refused to have Hollywood socialite Paris Hilton on his talk show `Koffee With Karan`.


Buzz has it that the filmmaker had initially planned to invite the blonde lady on his show. Hilton’s manager had set a number of conditions and Karan had even agreed to accommodate as many as he could. But in course of time their demands kept on increasing manifold.

Talking to a daily, a source revealed, "The stage was set for the famous Karan-Paris television face-off. However Paris` media team reportedly laid down too many conditions. Karan was allegedly told that he could not ask Paris any personal questions--especially those pertaining to drug use, her jail term or sex tapes."

So when KJo thought Paris ’s representatives were going overboard, he instantly decided to drop his plan of interviewing her on his famous show.

“Paris ` media people were familiarised with the format of `Koffee with Karan`. They knew exactly what the whole show was all about. In fact they had agreed to the show after watching a few episodes and learning how popular it was.
However their decision to lay down too many terms even after knowing what the show format entailed and how `big` KJo was, is ridiculous”, said the source.

If the news that’s doing rounds is to be believed, Paris’s Indian representative is earnestly trying too hard to convince Karan to reconsider his decision.

Paris Hilton to visit Mumbai

Ending weeks of speculation, international celebrity Paris Hilton will arrive in Mumbai later this month to launch her line of handbags and accessories in India, the event organisers said Tuesday.

Hilton will be in Mumbai for three days, Brand Concepts CEO Abhinav Kumar said.

Besides launching the handbags and accessories designed by her, branded `Paris Hilton`, she will also interact with her fans, Kumar said.

"We did an extensive research on popular fashion accessories abroad and we were delighted to find that Paris Hilton`s collection had the maximum brand recall," Kumar told.

Brand Concepts is the country`s first accessories licensing fashion brand.
