Explosive laden car found at Ambala rly station

Delhi Police officers probing the September 07 Delhi High Court blast have found a car packed with explosives at Ambala Cantt railway station.

As per reports, Thursday, the special police officers were tipped off about a possible terrorist attack at the railway station; they reached Ambala around 6.30 pm yesterday.

They identified an Indica car with the same registration number as revealed in the tip off, but they laid in wait hoping that someone would come to claim the car but after no one turned up till midnight, the cops decided to inspect the car.

The bomb squad was also called in, which found five kilograms of RDX, besides detonators and a timer device.

On further investigation, the Haryana Police found the registration number of the Indica — HR 03 0054 — to be fake. As per reports, originally, the number belongs to a car owned by a businessman named Rahul from Panchkula, near Chandigarh.

Reports quoting the investigators said that the explosives seem to be meant to target Delhi during the festive season.

Meanwhile, sources in the Delhi Police Special Cell have told that the explosives appear to have come from Jammu and Kashmir.

In a significant breakthrough in the Delhi High Court blast case, The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested one Dr Wasim from Kishtwar who is said to be one of the key conspirators of the September 7 blast that killed 15 persons and injured 80.

Highly placed sources told that Wasim’s arrest is crucial as his brother Junaid is said to be the planter of the bomb that ripped through the crowded reception area that busy Wednesday morning.

Junaid is a commander of the PoK based terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen.

Wasim’s arrest is the third arrest by the NIA in the case.

Earlier, two other Kishtwar residents – Aamir Abbas and Abid Hussain – were arrested in connection with the case. It was Abid who sent the terror e-mail three hours after the incident – reportedly on being asked by Aamir to do so.

NIA has announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for anybody giving information about the perpetrators of the blast.

PM:'There can be no let up on vigilance

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on today described terrorism and Naxalism as two big challenges facing the nation, while underlining no loss of innocent lives in pursuit of any ideology can be justified.

Addressing the meeting of the National Integration Council (NIC) here, the PM said terrorists’ misplaced sense of ideology cannot justify violence.

The pursuit of ideologies that cause violence cannot be justified in any form, he told the gathering.

Speaking just days after a blast rocked the Delhi High Court killing 13 people, the PM said there can be no let up on vigilance.

While stating that probe agencies have been bolstered in the last two years, the PM said “we must continue to strengthen investigative agencies and intelligence gathering operations.

He added that there was a need to ensure that probe agencies are free from any bias while investigating cases.

Singh informed the gathering that state and central security agencies are being connected on a computer network for better coordination.

Stressing on cooperation, PM Singh said Central and state governments have to work together to counter threat to internal peace.

Speaking about Naxalism, the PM said the problem has a development angle.

The PM added that his government has taken up security issues with neighbours, adding the response of some of them has been positive.

He however maintained that the “concerns remain”.

Five Bangladeshi terrorists sneak into WB

At a time when the investigating agencies are groping in the dark for leads in Wednesday’s Delhi High Court blast, reports suggest that five Bangladesh based terrorist have sneaked into West Bengal.

Meanwhile, the state government has alerted the police and adequate security arrangements are being made to ensure complete safety.
